Pat Campbell's Chelsea Garden

My next applique design for Embroidery Machines will be Pat Campbell's Chelsea Garden .  Here are some initial blocks and variious color schemes.  I will complete the whole quilt in the yellow color scheme.  There are 25 blocks that will fit in a 8" x 8" stitch area.

Cat for Baby Quilt and "Toys"

Patch Cats and Mice together at last

More Patch Cats

The Pink and Blue Cats are new, the Purple and Orange cats are an updated version.  I am assembling the 6 Patch Cats and mice as an example of the embroidery designs to support Stuffed with Fluff Quilt in Darcy Ashton's Claire's Cats Vol 2 book. 

It's all about the Cat eyes

When I first talked to Darcy Ashton about digitizing her Cats designs embroidery machines, it was important to have "great" eyes.  I had originally just did a satin fill, and then Darcy asked if they could have more of a sunburst look, as one of her students had hand embroidered eyes with a sunburst effect.  This makes them more realistic.  So I found the right settings for the Digitizing software and the EYES have it!   Of course I had to do one with 2 color eyes!

It is amazing how fabric choices and eye color just brings out the Cat's personality.

The mice have come out to play

These are the mice that are part of the Stuffed with Fluff Quilt in Darcy Ashton Claire's Cats Vol 2 book.  They stitch out in a 4" x 4" hoop and take less than 5 minutes each.  Also, using the flip vertical option on the embroidery machine, it is so easy to have the same design be the mirror image.
